What is Gliding Into Tech?

Gliding Into Tech is an empowering organization founded by me, Giada Jimenez, a Latina in computer science. Inspired by my journey in coding, which began in ninth grade, I am is dedicated to helping and teaching others about the power of technology. Through my involvement with the Bergen County Academies' Girls Who Code Club and the creation of multiple workshops, I am determined to making technology accessible and engaging for all ages.

One of my key initiatives, Tech Savvy Seniors, is a comprehensive 10-lesson workshop designed to help seniors navigate their smartphones more efficiently and effectively. Participants learn essential topics such as new upcoming technology, using and downloading apps, and smartphone settings, enabling them to connect with loved ones and fully utilize the digital world.

In my Starting from Scratch workshops, I introduces children to the exciting world of coding using the Scratch coding platform. Here, I teach block coding, supporting young minority students to develop their own tangible games and explore their imaginations.

With my background as a competitive synchronized figure skater, I take my leadership skills and determination to change the narrative that STEM education is meant for a certain type of person who looks a certain type of way. I coded this website from scratch using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AI, showcasing my skills while giving back to my community. Through all of my efforts, I aim to inspire and empower individuals by fostering a love for technology and innovation.
